Hey guys
I have been admitted to both Columbia (65K scolarship) and Chicago Booth (50k scholarship).
About my backround:
- I'm international student from Russia
- I work in investment banking industry, M&A (Moscow, Russia)
- I want to change the current industry to strategy consulting. My post-MBA goal is to work in MBB in foreign countries for couple years and in Russia after that
About my thoughts:
[+ for Columbia] I really like the opportunity to live in New York for 2 years
[+ for Columbia] The scholarship in Columbia is a little bit higher than in Booth
[No preferences] From open data, I realized that employment in consulting is quite similar in both programs. That's why this factor cannot be crucial in my decision
[+ for Chicago] Chicago Booth is more prestigious as MBA program according to the majority of rankings
[No preferences] Many people say about fit with culture of schools. Unfortunately, I don't have an opportunity to visit US before the deadline due to several reasons. From my experience with interviewers I liked very much the experience with Columbia's interviewer, but I understand that this conversation with one alumni is not representative
Considering this, I am leaning towards Columbia, but I am not 100% sure.
I would love to have your input.
Appreciate everyone's help and insights!! Thanks
