Do you mind sharing when you applied and if you've received an update yet? It's been 7 weeks for me and nothing yet.
I've applied to HEC's MiM. Insead's MiM isn't their flagship program so they're essentially just using the clout from their MBA program to run enrolment in their other programs. I've lived in France for a while and within the country, HEC, ESSEC and ESCP are all considered great but outside of France, it's only HEC that's recognised as target in Europe. I don't recommend ESSEC/ESCP if you don't speak French.

I would disagree with the idea of not applying to INSEAD, ESSEC, or ESCP (and this isn’t because I’m a student at ESSEC). Speaking French has never been a strict requirement for obtaining the diploma. Ultimately, it comes down to your priorities. If you receive a scholarship, then HEC is a fantastic option without a doubt. However, if you are very strict about finances and want to graduate with the lowest possible debt, ESSEC or ESCP can be great choices because they offer apprenticeship tracks. In practice, it is very difficult to cover the full cost of tuition through internships alone.
Also, INSEAD’s MiM is not its flagship program, but in Europe the strength of its alumni network and connections still carries significant weight.
PS: Speaking French becomes necessary if you want a client-facing job in France. And unless you are part of the admissions process, it’s difficult to know how much importance schools place on French during selection.
Just a small suggestion for everyone sharing opinions: it’s great to see different perspectives, but if something is purely your personal view about a school, program, or test, it might be helpful to mention “IMO”. Otherwise, others may interpret the statement as a definitive fact

Also adding to your statement about HEC being the only school recognized outside France there is some truth to it. However, when I applied for jobs in the UK, Spain, and Bulgaria (where I received offers), employers were often more interested in the courses and skills rather than just the school name. So I would say your statement is partially true, but in my experience it wasn’t the deciding factor
