Hi,
Because of it's location, is it required to learn French? Does one get any preference for the same? Would it impact the job opportunities?

No,as far as the admission is concerned ,there would be no impact.
However,as far as the job is concerned,it totally depends on many other factors.
It may happen that the coops would help you to get hired .So,french is not the material factor for landing into the job.

Are you aware about the recent changes in the MBA program of JMSB?

I was thinking of creating a Whatsapp group for John Molson Admits for Fall 2017. Those who already have a confirmed admit or those who are still applying - please ping me at +919999723141 to be a part of this group.

Hello All,

I am unsure how many of you have accepted the offer and received study permit. Hope some of you can answer my queries here. Have you guys started with subject enrollment? How did you choose the timings? Do we need to take up the electives in the first 2 terms or later terms?

For the first two terms. I have selected the mandatory courses (mba 640 - mba 649) with the exception of mba 650 for the fall 2017 and the winter 2018 semesters. I opted to go primarily with evening classes since they seemed to be filling up comparatively faster; not sure if I had made the right call there.

Have you received your CAQ? It has been 3 weeks since I had submitted my documents and I have not received any responses yet. This is starting to concern me a little bit. I hope I don't run out of time.

I had a quick conversation with Deborah Wright over email regarding electives and mba 650. Her response indicated that students typically do not get to opt for these courses during the first two semesters due to all the necessary prerequisites.

Hello Rajd5,

You can make a call to the number given in the website https://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/reach/telephone.htmlfor an update on status of your CAQ. They provided a prompt response on my CAQ.

Thanks for your quick response on electives. I am a little skeptical about Fall/Winter 2017-'18 terms. Is it mandatory to select courses for Fall/Winter terms which extends from September to April during your first year of studies?

I am planning to go with all the core courses in Fall 2017 and Winter 2018 and electives next Fall. Is my understanding/decision right? Any suggestion?

Hi Deepthy,

Yes that does seem to be the preferred approach and that is precisely what I ended up doing for the fall 2017 and for the winter 2018 semesters. However , as mentioned earlier,I was not able to select the core course mba 650. To be honest I don't even think we are eligible for Fall/Winter 2017-18 courses as of this particular point of time. I was a bit skeptical to begin with as well.

Thanks a ton for your inputs regarding caq. If you get a chance, please let me know how long it took for your caq to get approved. That would be helpful.
