Greetings,
I was recently just accepted into one of the consortium schools but I applied directly through the school. They suggested that I submit a consortium application to try to get a fellowship. My two options are either apply through the school preffered consortium application which only allows me to apply to the school that I have been accepted to or submit the consortium application with the school that I have been accepted plus any additional schools that I want to apply to. If I go with the ladder approach am I risking losing my acceptance into this school or do you think that it wouldn't matter and their admission decision will hold even if I apply to other programs through the consortium.
Thanks.
You are not bound to the program that accepted you and you have every right to continue applying. The school cannot see the other applications you are submitting through the Consortium, so I do not feel that there is a risk involved. Unless you do something illegal, unethical, or unbecoming, they will not rescind your offer (and applying to other programs is none of those!).
