Europian,680, 5 years experience, 3.4 GPA. I interviewed in Oct. and loved the campus and Ithaca. Great experience. I think my profile is similiar to yours.

No, I didn't. But aren't you supposed to be American and have gmat over 700 to be eligible :) At least that was my understanding.
On another note, I think they have already made a decision.

I dont think they have many interviews left. Next week should be the last week open for interviews, as they will review applications the last week. Also, from what I have seen from previous years posts, they should start calling on the 16.
I just feel like they have made a decision on people they have already interviewed. May be I am wrong.

Yeah... they have a very quick turn around time at Cornell... Definately would think you are right... Will find out how it all went down in a few weeks.

As a person who only recently got an invite, I can say that they still have interview times through Nov 10. They wuold even let me interview after Nov 10 if I wanted to but that meant I wouldnt get a decision by Nov 17.

Here's my current application status:

Quote:

Your interview is scheduled for Tuesday November 7, 2006 at 2:15pm with someone who is going to eat you alive. At the time of your interview, you will need to check in to 122 Sage Hall. We look forward to your arrival.

My sister and I just booked our visit to the campus for Nov 27th - I am a rd. 2 applicant and so I dont have an interview yet but I am trying to lobby all my schools as hard as I can, so I will visit all the places that are invitation only in the hopes that it will make an impact.

Source url? Sounds like a typical bullsh1t statement made by someone who wants to scare other applicants.

The students at Cornell seemed to think my profile was much stronger than I did. I think you too have to realize we are just the GMATclubers applying to a school... There are a whole lot of people who apply and are not resourceful enough to find GMATclub!!! :) So in some sense, prehaps we are a stronger bunch than the vast majority of the applicant pool. Just speaking with all of you we all have compelling cases for admission for quite different reasons.

I dont know if I am allowed to post links to other boards. Anyway, the person who made the statements looks like is currently a student at Cornell.

I think that 75% is a crazy number. The GMAT test-taking volume is not up much this year, and I don't believe Cornell has done anything particularly special to draw the increased application volume compared to last year.

I did read the Accepted.com chat with a Columbia Adcom earlier today. Linda (the Adcom at Columbia) said that early decision applications were up substantially compared to last year. She also indicated that yield was especially high last year and their class size was larger than normal. She didn't say whether this year's class would be reduced or if there were any carry-overs from last year.

That's true, we are just a small percentage of the applicant's pool.

I'm also highly skeptical of a number like 75%. Astronomical. I stick to my load of bull theory.

I am skeptical too. Darden was claiming a 75-80% increase in its early applications too. Considering that Columbia's applications were up too, it makes you wonder if these statements are true.
