First, thank you very much for spending the time to evaluate my profile - I plan on taking the advice seriously.
Background: White Male, 25, 26 years old at matriculation. 710 GMAT Q50, V36. 3.4GPA, Accounting Major from a small Jesuit school.
Work Experience: 4 yrs at Big 4 Actg firm in the audit function - clients include Technology and Media companies in Silicon Valley. Promoted to Senior Associate in tough economic times. Earned my CPA designation.
In work Leadership: Lead teams of 3 and direct report to Sr. Managers; constant interaction with high-profile clients; Led meetings to get staff aquainted with CPA requirements.
EC/Leadership: Occasionally volunteer and lead Basketball games for children with autism; Play on Company softball and rec Soccer leagues.
I took 5 weeks off of work to teach at a Children's school in Cambodia. I feel very passionate about this project and although most of my other Leadership/EC's were on par and nothing special, I feel strongly about this project. I'm not sure how much of an impact it could have considering it was only for a month.
Goals: I'd like to get into Corporate Development/Strategy. I would consider either doing Management Consulting or working at a Fortune 500 in Corporate Finance. I have a strong accounting background and I hope my analytical skills and an MBA would be a great combination.
Schools: Stretch would be Kellogg and Tuck; Competitive I'm thinking Duke and Darden; Back-up McCombs. Anything outside of the top 20 really wouldn't be worth it for me - I would debate about even going to UT.
If you could please evaluate or provide any other suggestions that would be great. Thanks!
