Darden ($) and Goizueta ($$)

Question

I'm really fortunate to have admission to several good programs, which I don't really think that I could achieve. Now it comes to the tough decision, Emory and Darden, the difference between the scholarship amount is $50k. I'm an international student with 7 years of working experience in Sales/Marketing in CPG companies. My long term vision is to run my own consulting firm focusing on corporate strategy, so after MBA I'd prefer to work in consulting (if possible) or a GM program (more feasible). Both Emory and Darden have very good stats in consulting track, but Darden is more well-known plus the attractive case method. I don't have any specific location preference but it should be better if it is Texas.

So my question is, considering my career goal, is it worth to spend $50k more for Darden? I lost 50% my savings because of the recent economics collapse so I have to borrow a huge amount to cover my COA.

I think Darden is a no brainer on this. Emory might have a good consulting track, but Darden is a powerhouse in consulting and if that's your goal, Darden is the way to go! Also, the $50K you mentioned - is that per year or both years combined? If it is just $25K a year, I would choose Darden in a heartbeat. Charlottesville might also be cheaper to live in.

Also Darden has confirmed STEM status. Emory does not!

Congratulations  fudetra  .

Consider it the following way and then decide.

1. Save $50k and take a big risk of getting a STEM degree. Emory is still towards getting Stem certification but not there yet with no decided date.
2. Spend those extra $50k and not only get a STEM degree (meaning upto 4 chances of H1b lottery) but also get ample number of recruitment opportunities.

To make it simple for you, if I were you, I would have chosen Darden without a 2nd thought.

Thank you all for your input. Yes, it's a $25k/year, and the lower living expenses in C'ville is offset by the higher tuition fee in Goizueta, so it's a total $50k difference. Your feedback also matches with my choice, so I will lean towards Darden. Thank you again and I wish you all safe in this period.
