a line with y= a constant is always parallel to the x-axis. Hence, slope is 0

So in the above question we are asked that create a condition where grace, zane and rupert don’t get what they want. So we know zane wants either strawberry or lemon soda. But as rupert have already selected lemon we need that zane do not select strawberry. So it is necessary that grace select strawberry before zane. So 1st grace and get strawberry. Also Rupert wants grace go first if she let rupert go second, so if we want to prevent rupert going second we will let him go third.

In short, preclude or make all childrens unhappy by using grace in a good way.

When it says “preclude all the children from selecting a soda acceptable to each of them”, if Rupert gets the lemon soda won’t that be the soda of his choice?

I know if Rupert doesn’t get to go second then that would be against his want, but the soda selection made this slightly confusing for me. Am I supposed to then look at the statement “Rupert SELECTS lemon soda” as a stated fact? That he’s already gone for it?

See, rupert in the above question has not clarified anything that he wants this soda only. Only zane have clarified it’s soda choice. Additionally its given in the question that rupert have already chosen lemon soda. Grace will go first as she doesn’t want to go first. So all kids will get unhappy and we will get right answer

Hello All, could you help me with the below question?
the-chair-of-the-board-of-directors-for-a-certain-company-is-planning-431774.html

I am not sure the answer mentioned is correct. fir y=7 i get x as 17 according to my equation

the logic i used is
0.75(total votes) = yes votes
so
0.75(x+1+y-1)= x+1.

Will such Qs be asked in the DI section under the focus edition - one because it involves the use of a calculator in a complex way and two because it has the application of geometry. @chetan2u @bunuel - please guide.
Also, where is the calculator visible in the mock tests on GMAT Club? I have asked this question a couple of times, it is not there or have I missed the UI.

This Q has not been framed properly, there is no congruence in the Q asked and the answer options.
Also, why are MSR Qs not shown in one flow during sectional practice sessions. The same MSR Q comes in parts with separate Qs in between.
