nor is usually used with its counter part "neither"-- neither X nor Y
or as a FANBOY- for, and, nor, but, or , yet
(A) nor- creates a fragment- wrong!
(B) nor were they - the correct option!
(C) nor were not- nor+not ungrammatical- wrong!
(D) or were- dinosaurs themselves were not "feathers"- meaning error- wrong!
(E) or- fragment- wrong!
