I don't think the question pool is better or anything. With the official practice tests you will get a flavor of how the actual test works and how the adaptive algorithm works. The OG practice is not an adaptive platform, though you can select the difficulty level of the question you answer.

I have the OG book, which has the question bank accessible online through gmat.wiley.com. What is the difference between this portal / question set and the question set available on MBA.com (ex. the free 2 practice tests, and then the purchase packages of ¾ and 5/6)?

The reason I ask: I have the OG book, with all the questions on the wiley website. I was thinking to purchase the exam pack ¾ and 5/6 from mba.com, but I am not sure if the questions will repeat? Since they are different portals, I am confused if they are both official resources with the same question banks or not.

Hi,

Let me help you here. The questions from OG and official GMAT mocks do not overlap at all. Each has its separate set of questions. Use OG to get used to the question types and use the official mocks to assess your current level and to identify your weaker areas. But if you are in a plan to rely on OG for your GMAT preparation, I wouldn't consider that as an ideal way to prepare. Because, OG has very good questions but it doesn't help you to learn the concepts and the methodologies required. So, I recommend you to choose a standard resource which helps you to learn the concepts and focuses on teaching the right methodologies to solve questions.
