Aloha,
Hoping you can give me some insight into why I got dinged!
Applied: Haas, Ross (legacy), Harvard, Yale
Results: Haas, waitlist without interview; Ross, waitlist without interview; Harvard, denied without interview; Yale, denied with interview
Stats:
Undergrad: 3.6 Cum laude from Amherst College. English degree. Crew team captain, student senator.
GMAT: 740 (96% Verbal, 78% quant)
Professional: 2.5 years with nationally known non-profit as an executive. (Analogous to being the head of a small non-profit. Expertise in all aspects of non-prof work)
Location: Hawaii
Extra-curriculars: Board member, church; board member, local chamber of commerce; volunteer, local bike advocacy organization
Other factors: I did not have a recommendation from my immediate supervisor. Quant background is iffy (econ course, 3 comp sci courses, soft science course)
Questions:
1. What the heck does getting waitlisted without an interview mean?
2. Anything I can do to improve my standing on the WL?
3. What can I do to improve!
Thanks so much in advance!
