Re: Disappointing 730: should I retake? [#permalink]

Hi towski, first of all congratulations on a very strong GMAT. I understand that you're a little disappointed with the score, given that you were doing better in practice tests and you're aiming quite high at your target schools, but you should at least take the time to appreciate that you did very well on this test.

I agree with the posters above, I wouldn't retake the exam now. The difference between getting a 730 and 740 and 750 isn't dramatic compared to the other aspects of your admission, so it likely doesn't benefit you much to have a slightly higher score on the exam. You've demonstrated that you're able to do well on this test, I'm not sure that a second score at 750 would change much. The best advice is probably to apply now and see how things go. If you really want to retake as a matter of personal pride or achievement, your score will likely inch up a little, but it's doubtful that it will change anything in the admissions process, so feel free to make whatever decision that works best for you.

Best of luck!
