Yes, I think that is a good reason for applying to the weekend or evening program (instead of the full-time program). You still have a couple of weeks before the deadline... As long as you can craft a strong application in this time, I don't think you're applying too late.

Your GMAT score is good enough to get you in. Your essays and recommendations will be the key.
