For the Essay 2 of Fuqua, generally how many words have R1/R2 applicants end up writing? I somehow had an impression of 500 words limit but just before submitting realized there is no such words constraint!

2 pg limit with 1.5 spacing and min 10 pnt font leaves possibility for over a 1000 words.

mines roughly 850 now.

I imagine they do this b/c its the only essay in reality

True, although really had a lot of fun writing my 25 things about me essay. I wish more schools would have essays like this.

For R1, it was midnight of the date listed on the site, though I believe neither the website nor the application list the time explicitly. (There are definitely posts from me and some others asking this same question earlier on this thread :) )

I just saw this in my inbox while looking for my login details: the R2 deadline is mentioned in the R2 Deadline Notification (sent to me on 28 Dec). It's January 4 at 11:59PM EST, so there's still time!

Just submitted mine :-D

I think the overall consensus is that adcoms give a few days as buffer, but I would call adcom and ask anonymously

For the people asking about letters of rec being in late: one of my letters wasn't submitted on time for round 1. A few days later I received an email saying that the deadline for missing materials is 11/12/12 in order to be considered for round 1. When my letter of rec was submitted a day later, I received confirmation of that submission. Shortly after, I received an email saying the applicaftion was ready to proceed towards the evaluation stage.

Waitlisters -- I started the Fuqua WL thread. It was a huge help to me last year (at least there's a place to commiserate with everyone else who's waiting!). Good luck everyone and hopefully EA-ers see some movement soon.

R1s -- January has finally come. Good luck next week :) As we've seen before, no calls will go out before hand. Status update emails seem to be sent out either around noon ET or 3:30 pm ET and after, and if admitted, you'll then receive calls from your interviewer as well as your Fuqua Buddy. January 8th will certainly be a day of constant inbox refreshing!

Good luck to all Round 1 folks next week! And best of luck to the Round 2 folks who are still putting the final touches on their applications!

Those admitted on January 8 will indeed be contacted by their interviewer and newly assigned Fuqua Buddy. Please be advised that the phone call might be a couple days after the 8th, depending on your interviewer's availability. Also, the buddy-matching takes place after the decision notifications, so it could be a few days before you get an email from your Fuqua Buddy! :)

Regarding the inbox-refreshing: when I was admitted two years ago, I was refreshing the status page within the application portal. The status updated at 12:00pm EST. I only received an email about it about ten minutes later. The email simply tells you that your status has been updated in the application portal.

It's too late for those submitting their apps today, but see the following linked blog post in case anybody is interested in what a current student's Top 25 list would look like.

Good luck next week, everybody!

Well, I just submitted my R2 application. Good luck to all others out there!

My long essay ended up at 1,138 words--yikes! Too much to say, I guess.

Not quite, there's still this much time left until Tuesday at Noon ET, the time that I'll probably start obsessively refreshing every inbox & status page I have access to :)

Disclaimer: This was made out of sheer fun/amusement. This is not a typical Saturday night...
