Hello,

I recently took the GMAT and scored a 770 (49 Q / 50 V / 7 IR / 6 AWA). I noticed on my Enhanced Score Report that I had scored 100% of the verbal questions correct. Doesn't this mean that I should have received a 51 on verbal? I've reached out to GMAC to learn more, but it seems unlikely that my score will be changed. Has anyone ever had an error on their official score?

Hi,

It should not be a worry for you. GMAT's algorithm is quite peculiar and scores may vary even after getting all the questions correct. Score of two students can be different even after having same Q and V splits.

What this could mean is that you got an easier (just slightly easier) set of questions than is usual for that level of performance. However, that is not your fault. You should get a 51 if you got all questions correct.

The other person did not miss any questions on the V section either, but it seems GMAC has trouble with giving a V51 score due to questions/etc. You will likely get V51 but your overall score will remain the same (the scaled and total scores are calculated independent of each other).
