If a school doesn't explicitly say, what is best practice for essay formatting? Ex: line spacing, page numbers, prompt at the top, name & school in header...?

In addition - anyone know what schools in the top 15 do indeed request a special formatting?

Times new roman size 12 either 1.5 or double spaced is nice. I like double spaced.

Follow the school guidelines as some tell you what to do and others don't. If they do not then I would not include your name but you can include the prompt at top. (It doesn't matter much either way but it won't hurt). File naming convention doesn't matter.

On formatting, I've seen few applicants using bold in the body of the essay to emphasize particular words. In such cases, your words, and not formatting, should draw the attention of essay-reviewer.
