Hi there,

Congrats on taking the GMAT! In terms of timing for your applications, that's a pretty big decision and is really up to you if you feel ready to tackle the process over the next 5 weeks or so for the US R2 deadlines. A lot goes into writing great essays and compiling a strong application and you may find yourself crunched for time at this point if you're just getting started. When aiming for the top programs (like Yale and Kellogg), you don't want to leave anything to chance. If you think that an additional 6 months of work experience will enable you to strengthen your story, then it's probably worth punting to R1 next year. Based on the information you provided, my sense is that taking the additional time to research your schools and refine your story & goals will play to your advantage. I would encourage you to consider some programs outside the top 10 in the US given the competitive nature of the process.

Wish you the best! Let us know if we can help you with your applications when the time comes.

Best,
Melody
