Hi Team,

Thanks for the forum.

I will need your suggestion to shortlist MBA colleges to where I should apply for the batch starting from Fall 2018.
I am planning to apply in round 1 itself. Can you suggest some colleges which suit my profile ?
Profile below :

GMAT - 710 (38V, 49Q) AWA-5, IR-6
India Male, Mechanical Engineer
College: NIT, Hamirpur
CGPI: 7.74
Work ex- 4 years till date in Procurement division (2 years in Indian automotive firm and 2 years in consulting)
Preferred location for MBA : US
Expense budget : Max 70 Lacs
Career goals : 4-5 years in consulting then shift to core strategy planning in operations/procurement. I am open to industries since i have seen procurement of many industries in my consulting role. I am open to all geographies post MBA

Thank You in advance.

Hi lovishgupta,

When you say you’re neutral to geography, I believe you’re cognizant of the fact that post-MBA you’re most likely going to work in the same geography. That’s the biggest limitation. If you’re flexible working anywhere, then you may pick schools where you aren’t off on GMAT too much (Although GMAT score is one of the factors, it is a strong filter in many cases.) Last year was particularly bad for Indian applicants on this count. Most U.S. schools have plenty of recruitment in consulting. (Look at their employment reports to get a hang of numbers and brands.) Rotman, Canada, too can be a consideration. European schools can be challenging for applicants without international experience, and you’ve to consider the job market as well.

Hey there,
And good to hear from you!

Now, I'd LOVE to help you out and get down with your profile. The thing is I am missing detail.

I need a LOT more info from you - employer name, titles, promotions, greatest achievements, volunteer work, sports, community service, religious involvement, leadership.. etc. before I can give you a real evaluation.

It will also be very helpful if you can elaborate upon your goals.

Overall, I can sya that it is looking like you would be able to aim somewhere in the 15-30 ranking in the US.

Have a look at some of the other very detailed profile requests on this board and do something similar and I'll be happy to get back to you with a more profound answer.

Best,
JF

I hope this helps! And feel free to drop us a line for a free consultation.
