Hello,

I am very interested in receiving a profile evaluation for Fall 2010 MBA admissions Here is my profile:

Background: 24 year-old male, middle-eastern descent, born & raised in USA

GMAT: 750 (50Q 41V)

GPA: 3.46, Finance, large state school, worked part-time (20+ hours/week) during entire undergraduate career.

Work Experience: 3.25 years at matriculation, Financial Services Industry, work for a well-known brokerage firm. Spent my first year with the firm working as an equity trader/general service representative. Promoted to the Corporate Stock Plan group after first year.

Extracurricular: Volunteered on a political campaign in college. Also volunteered with my state's parks & recreation department.

Career Path: Would like to work in the Financial Industry. Interested in pursuing career in Investment Banking/Corporate Finance.

Schools I'm most interested in:
1. Wharton
2. Chicago
3. Columbia
4. NYU
5. Michigan
6. Northwestern
7. Carnegie Mellon

I feel like all of the schools on this list are at least a bit of a reach. I would like to get your opinion on my chances at these schools. Also, I am interested in knowing what other top 25 programs you would recommend based on my profile. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

Tortorious,

You have a potentially successful profile given your cultural background and GMAT score, but you don't appear to have significant leadership at work, and this lack doesn't seem to be compensated for by a big leadership experience outside of work. Fortunately, you are young so you could work on this and have a much better chance at the top schools next year. As your profile stands now, I don't think Wharton, Chicago, Kellogg, and CBS are doable. You could apply to NYU and Michigan as long shots, and CMU is probably your best bet on this list. Given your goals, you might consider Cornell, UNC, Geogetown, Rochester or Vanderbilt among others.

Good luck,
