This is why I'm working out these days. I could stand to loose 20 pounds. I'm a bit overweight.

Thanks to the GMAT, I have also gained few pounds. I went back to the gym after a long time, and my whole body is sore now!

I worked out for the first time, in probably six months yesterday. My legs hurt. My arms hurt. My abs don't but they should. And you know what? If feels good.

I used to think that, but I've come to realize, I'm probably going to be much more busy then and I am now.

Hmmm maybe I should have quit the gym to study for the GMAT lol - I have maintained the entire time but I definitely dont spend as much time as I used to because my schedule is much tighter with studying, applying, and work. I cant wait to quit and hit the gym hard.

I think that there was a study done showing people who are in shape "appear" to be more intelligent, trustworthy and reliable as oppose to those who are overweight.

Pereception of those who are fit/in shape:
1. More effective at sales/persuasion. (sex sells)
2. More trustworthy and have more discipline as they can manager their own weight.
3. More energy and drive.
4. More reliable in reaching goals.

I'm a little bigger myself, and I know that it does affect an individual especially in the business world.

How many CEO's or top executives have you seen on TV that are overweight. Not too many. There might be a correlation between advanced degrees and weight. Have you ever checked out med, law, or dental schools. All the students are in within normal weight range.

Just some of my insight. I need to hit the treadmill.

I'm 6 foot 2 and about 205-210 pounds (depending on the day, i guess its just water weight differentials). Goal is 190.

Gotta say that this process has taken its toll on my level of fitness as well. I'd like to stay around my current weight (~210lbs) but want to "redistribute" somewhat.

If you aren't familiar with putting together a cardio/weight routine, check this out: https://menshealth.genesant.com/www/xnt/ ... ner-_-text

I'm a health nut but use this site to track everything online. It will adjust the workout each time you enter information and you can create your own workout or select one of the ones from the magazine.

I'm the opposite. I've been training extra hard since I started preparing for bschool... cuz I know once I get that IB job, it's going to cause huge physical distress!

So I am bulking up and getting in shape for it! It's weird that many people gain weight from stress but many people also lose weight. I guess it depends on body type and metabolism...

Yeah, I've definitely gotten fatter since I started the process. I'd like to lose 10 before the summer and get down to 180 (I'm about 6').

I agree with that...The last 5-6 months have been bad for me. I have actually lost quite a bit of weight (around 15 pounds atleast).. The first 3 months were spend preparing for my GMAT. THe rest for the apps. And my work hrs have always been more than 60 hrs per week. So coming late from work a brief workout and then studying late night has taken it's toll. My avg sleep has declined- dark circles under eyes..I basically look like a zombie.. My social life is a naught.
It'll be sad if i get dinged everywhere and then have to go through all this rigmarole for the next yr.
I really couldn't emphasize more the importance of starting early. I started with this whole game in September and took my GMAT in early Nov. If only i had started in May/June, I would have had 50% more probability of getting in.

haha, seemingly GMATclubers are so free now and killing time by those posts (and I'm killing mine by reading them).
Btw, I began work out last month, and I gain 5 pounds. Don't know why. But I feel healthier. Try to be physically healthy before jumping into the competition at B-school.
