I can totally relate with this. What I also observed that GMAT is section adaptive, which makes DI more challenging if kept after the strongest section.
Keeping the weakest section before may seem better but then the strongest section is more tough...

Preparing all sections with similar level of toughness is the only way to score high it seems. No way out !

I was consistently scoring in the 695–705 range during my mock tests, which gave me confidence going into the official exam. However, the actual exam turned out to be much more trickier than expected. I ended up with a 635, a noticeable drop from my practice performance. The major factor that affected my score was the Data Interpretation section, which felt significantly time-consuming than what I had practiced. This experience taught me that while mocks help build familiarity and confidence, the official test can demand stronger adaptability, especially in high-pressure sections like DI.

Hey, I also faced the exact situation, consistent 695-705 in mocks but 655 in actual. For me DI and VR both were time consuming and I was not able to save time on easy questions as I was double guessing and double checking everything. And one other thing I noticed was DI section had more text and less calculation, which made me feel that GMAT wants to test how fast can you read and understand the data accurately, and not test on difficult logics.
Anyways, let me know if you want to connect separately because we are in the same situation and I want to discuss to figure out what to do next and how we can overcome this.

Hi yashaswikhandelia,

I'm sorry to hear about your GMAT. Do you plan to reatke? If so, do you need any advice regarding your DI preparation?
