Hi

My GMAT is on 19.11.15.
I'm targeting at least Q50 V36 (720).

As a time crunch measure, I'm memorizing idioms from Aristotle SC. I'm sure this will give me the much needed 1 point bump, won't it?

Sentence correction is about much more than just memorizing idioms. There are some common idioms, but beyond those 10 or so, the extra memorizing probably won't help. SC is more about being able to effectively identify and eliminate the incorrect answers.

I would suggest buying a copy of the Veritas Sentence Correction book or the Manhattan GMAT Sentence Correction book. Those books will provide you with the aspects of grammar that are tested and give you a strategy to attack SC problems.

I've tried both Veritas and MG SC. Neither works. The issue is that I am quite myopic when I read SC Qs.

I completely disagree that those books don't work. I would argue that you are not following the strategies and teachings of those books. How do you approach a sentence correction problem?
