So...when is quitting their jobs??

Technically, I move out west when my girlfriend gets a job but the tentative aim is to quit come June. I'm worried it's a bit too much time between work and school (loss of income, general boredom, big gap in resume, etc.) but maybe I'll be able to do some contract work remotely at my current job through the summer. Knowing I have an expiration date at work is definitely making the days drag. I wish some one would have told me there was a downside to applying and accepting Round 1...

Seriously, you're worried about employment gap in resume from June to August? That's like nothing...

Quit your job sooner rather than later. Go do something that you always want to do but did not have time for, such as travel, write a book, learn some new skill, etc.

Thanks, Pinecrest

I'm most likely taking the summer off and will do some traveling. In addition to actually moving (road tripping) cross country, i'm planning a small trip to Hawaii and perhaps France to see the Euros! Work days drag longer and longer each day!

My contract expires in May and I'm literally going to live in my car with my dog until I matriculate in August and drive along the Northwestern coast of the US. For funsiez.

I think you'll be OK with your short gap. :P

Will do, if I get the chance! Definitely looking at national parks. I don't know where I'm going yet in the fall. I was admitted to Duke, but Yale is my top choice (social impact). Have fun at UW!!! Have to admit, I am jealous! I want to live in Seattle post-MBA.

Both great schools, good luck with Yale!

Having grown up in the Seattle area, the career opportunities in Seattle, and having family close definitely made UW a no-brainer. However, a part of me wishes i would have applied to schools in the 10-20 rank range just to see what if. I went Harvard or bust (UW being considered a "bust" if you can even call it that) but definitely not complaining! Excited to be in Seattle!

A friend of mine is finishing up at Duke and loved it--Yale or Duke you'll have a blast.

I have to give a one month notice that could end up being two months because I was promoted a while back...I'm hoping to hand in my resig by May and be out by June...I really need the time off to just chill lol

Haven't been accepted anywhere yet but I'm already imagining the time off...
