Keeping my fingers crossed! Good luck everyone:). Duke is my first choice school so I'm really hoping for some good news today!

Is there any reason to think more calls are going out today? I think they finished yesterday.

Is the waitlist evaluated on a rolling basis or is the R3 decision date (May 6) the next time we're going to hear?

OMG I got in from the waitlist! I just got a call this morning. So excited!!
Me too :D
Congrats guys...

As for me... I'm forced to check in on this thread as you guys leave...

Is there any advice you could leave for us regarding what extra info you sent, timing, or anything?

Thank you!!!!

About a month after the waitlist notice, they send you an email entitled "What Can You Do While 'Waiting'? - Next Steps While on the Waitlist"
One of the things they include in that email is the waitlist section of the FAQ on the Fuqua website. Also, they link you to this post by a current student.

I was waitlisted Round 1. I sent an update last round with some information about new quant courses I was taking and an official report for my improved GMAT score. I'm a teacher, so I'm not looking at any kind of promotion mid-year, and work finishes for me in a couple months. I also had a very hard time finding people will to commit time to writing recommendations, so another letter is probably out of the question. Is there anything I can do during Round 3 to enhance my candidacy? I don't want Fuqua to think I've lost interest.

Promotion, additional recommendations are certainly the best way to strengthen your candidacy. But to show how much you love the school, you can visit the campus, talk to students, and especially talk to alumni in the same post-MBA industry that you want to go to. In the next update, include this "due diligence" results and say how you are more convinced than ever that you Fuqua is the right place for you.

hope this helps!

That's what their email said that they sent out a while back. They did say that if you had test scores or something that you will not know about until later that you should make sure to have it in by May 1, so I imagine there is a bit of play built in.

Here is the quote from the email I got on Jan 16th:

"To make sure this additional information is evaluated, please submit new information by January 28th for Round 2 or by April 1st for Round 3. If you are in progress on updates at these times (e.g., scheduled to take the GMAT during February), please do submit any new information by March 9th for Round 2 or by May 1st for Round 3 to ensure inclusion in your file prior to decision release."

So its March 9th for R2 and May 1st for R3. Is there any email you guys got after Jan 16th?

yes - the e-mail R2 applicants received had a different due date for the firt set of dates -- as a previous person said, that deadline was Apr. 8th.

I was not invited to interview, then waitlisted pending an interview. I scheduled mine for next Saturday in Durham. Even though I've been accepted elsewhere, I just have to see Fuqua up close again and make sure it's either the best fit, or not a fit for me.

Best of luck to other waitlisted applicants!

The visit to Durham was a lot of fun. Went to Fuqua Friday, sat in on a class, and talked to a bunch of current students. Also hoping for good news in May. We'll see how it goes.

Good luck! Did you get anything specific from your Waitlist manager? Mine is out of the office for a few days.
Probably Fuqua is busy counting how many dropped out after the second deposit deadline yesterday. Hopefully, we still have a shot.

They want you to want them. My councilor told me that they prioritize the people who are able to commit quickly to the program if granted admission. When I crashed Fuqua Friday, I heard tell of a student who was in a moving truck on his way to Georgetown's orientation when he got the call from Fuqua a few days before classes start. That's kind of an extreme example, but they want people who can make all of the organized activities if granted admission, and also want to reduce the amount of time it takes to fill the class out.
