no lines on the actual GMAT- if you have taken any of the officials practice CATs you'll see that there are no numbers and same for the official exam administered at the testing center.

NO it doesn't. Suggest you start ignoring the line/para numbers while practicing. It hit me badly when I realized that I will have to find the quoted lines and words by myself in the actual passage.
