What mistakes do most applicants do in their applications?

Great question! Many folks are interested in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) - most programs have some version of a concentration in Sustainability - some that are known for this are - Oxford, Haas, Cornell, Georgetown, HBS, Fuqua and IE.

the biggest mistake is copying and pasting your essays from one to fit another. MBA programs actually read the applications and don’t send them through a filtering program for keywords... they are looking for essays that illustrate you’ve done your homework and you know why this program is the best fit for you and your goals.

Start by attending their webinars and evaluating their curriculum, then if it seems like a fit, move on to speaking to ambassadors, alums and/or the adcom. What matters most to you about an MBA program?

Is one year MBA recommended for international applicants considering limited internship opportunities ?

1 year programs are going to be better tailored for seasoned professionals - Kellogg, Emory and USC IBEAR are a few programs, Cornell requires a masters for their 1 year program; then there are Tech MBA options and then there are Senior Full-time Programs like Stanford MSx and Foster Global EMBA or Ross EMBA

my profile .. I have 740 in gmat .. I have secured All INDIA Rank 5 in the GATE Exam. I have worked both as maintenance engineer and inspection engineer in the largest public sector oil refinery of india ... I have work ex of 8 years and will have total work ex of 9 years at time of matriculation. my age at time of application is 29 and at time of matriculation is 30. .. I have got 2 promotions in my organisation in the fastest possible duration . My last 3 performance ratings were Outstanding ... I was teaching assistant for btech part II student during my 4th year of graduation.... I Also used to teach at an orphanage. post mba I want to work in operations....

I would like to know whether my post mba goals are aligned with my job profile and which all mba colleges should I target

since I am international student, I don’t have any specific preference for any location

A 1YR program isn’t going to include an internship, which most candidates yield their job offer from. However, the career coaches of 1YR programs are there to help you target the right employers. I’d recommend looking up the Employment Report for the programs you are interested in and seeing how international students fair with employment as well as if employers and positions you are looking for are on the report. Beyond that, engaging with the admissions team will also help clear up any doubts. However, most T15 2yr programs are not as open to 9yrs of WE. So do your homework.
