Hi alokspa,

With a score goal of 750+, you're going to have to make some significant improvements to how you handle the overall Verbal section. Since it's been 5 months since you took the GMAT, there's a question as to whether your GMAT skills have 'faded' or not, so the logical place to start would be for you to take a NEW FULL-LENGTH CAT (with the Essay and IR sections). Once you have that score result, you should post back here and we can discuss how best to proceed.

1) If you are accepted to any of the 3 Schools that wait-listed you, will you choose to attend (and thus stop studying)?
2) Did you purchase the Enhanced Score Report for your Official GMAT?

Hello Rich

I took an GMATPREP test 1 today, I scored 760 (Q50, V44, IR7), I Skipped the essay. Actually many of the questions I had seen earlier, So no where close to an original attempt.

1) If you are accepted to any of the 3 Schools that wait-listed you, will you choose to attend (and thus stop studying)? - No. The schools that I wanted have already rejected me.

2) Did you purchase the Enhanced Score Report for your Official GMAT? - No I didn't. Should I?

Regards
Alok

Hi alokspa,

You seem to understand that this recent practice CAT result is NOT realistic (skipping the Essay and seeing 'repeat' questions led to a shorter, easier Exam that 'inflated' your score result). Thus, before you start studying again, I highly recommend that you take a NEW FULL-LENGTH CAT (with both the Essay and IR sections and without any repeat questions), so that we can get a more accurate gauge of your current skills.

You might choose to purchase the Enhanced Score Report. While the ESR doesn't provide a lot of information, there are usually a few data points that we can use to define why you didn't score higher (and what you should work on). If you purchase the ESR, then I'll be happy to analyze it for you.

All things considered, with another 1-2 months of consistent, guided study, I think that there's a good chance that you could improve over your prior 690. You have to realize that a 750+ is based heavily on the 'precision' in your work - and to score at that level means that you cannot afford to make little mistakes. At higher-and-higher scoring levels, the GMAT becomes really 'sensitive' to little mistakes on 'gettable' questions - if you make to many of those mistakes, then a 750+ score becomes impossible to achieve.
