Hi Team,
This is Sruthi. I have given my GMAT exam on 10th May 2012 and I have scored only 560 (Quant: 47 and Verbal: 20). I think I am good in Quant but Verbal I find it very difficult. I am not used to reading heavy content and I dont have a habit of reading novels or new papers. I really worked hard in my first test. I prepared for a span of 4 months but I couldnt improve my verbal score at all. I am planning to re-take my exam in the 1st week of May in 2015 and have started to follow the 3 month GMAT study plan posted in GMAT Club. I am really worried about my verbal. May be I have directly jumped to solve the questions without improving my basic reading/analytical skills. I am currently working in an IT firm and have an experience of around 6.5yrs. I do speak decent english but somehow GMAT verbal section has struck me with a kind of Phobia.
Anything that you would like to suggest me with respect to the Verbal section? I want to score 650+ and this time I really want to work even harder. Thanks in Advance

I have not tried it, but e-gmat is highly regarded by many non-native English speakers. It might be something worth looking in to.

Hi Shruthi,
You last Official GMAT was the "old" version of the GMAT; the new version of the GMAT has replaced the second essay with a section called Integrated Reasoning. Since your last Test was almost 3 years ago, it would probably be a good idea to get a sense of your current skills.
Sometime in the next 1-2 weeks, you should plan to take a FULL-LENGTH practice CAT (you can download 2 for free from www.mba.com). Once you have those scores, you should post back here and I'll be happy to advise.
The Verbal section of the GMAT is just as predictable and standardized as the Quant section, so you CAN train for it and learn to score at a high level.
