I’m a Chartered Accountant and CFA with 3.2 yrs of experience across JP Morgan and JM Financial with 2 months international experience in London. I have a graduation score of 64% from Rajasthan University. Recently, appeared for GMAT and scored 735 and looking to get into M7 colleges, request to guide which colleges can I look at from R2 per se?
Hi arpitmaheshwari,

Your profile is quite strong, especially given your professional experience in finance and your impressive GMAT score.

Target Schools:

Considering your profile and the competitive nature of M7 schools, you could aim for the following:

M7 Schools:
Harvard Business School: A strong academic background, significant work experience, and a high GMAT score can make you a competitive applicant.
Stanford Graduate School of Business: Their focus on innovation and entrepreneurship aligns well with your profile.
Wharton School: A strong choice for finance and consulting aspirants.
University of Chicago Booth School of Business: Known for its quantitative focus, which could be a good fit given your background.
Columbia Business School: A strong network and focus on global business.
Kellogg School of Management: Offers a strong program with a focus on leadership and global business.
MIT Sloan School of Management: For those interested in technology and innovation.

Factors to Consider:

Fit with the Program: Research the specific programs and ensure your goals align with the school's culture and curriculum.
Strong Essays and Recommendations: Craft compelling essays that highlight your unique experiences, career goals, and fit with the program. Secure strong letters of recommendation from individuals who can speak to your leadership abilities, work ethic, and potential.
Networking: Connect with alumni of your target schools to gain insights and potential mentorship.
Interview Preparation: Practice common interview questions and develop effective communication skills.

Remember, while your profile is strong, the competition for top-tier MBA programs is intense. A higher GMAT score, strong essays, and compelling recommendations can significantly increase your chances of admission.

Hi arpitmaheshwari , I hope you are doing well.

Your profile demonstrates good academic and professional achievements, making you a competitive candidate for M7 programs. With a great GMAT score of 735, certifications as a Chartered Accountant (CA) and CFA, and 3.2 years of experience across JP Morgan and JM Financial, including international exposure in London, you bring valuable skills in finance and investment. While your undergraduate GPA of 64% is below average for M7, your certifications and GMAT score compensate well, showcasing your analytical skills. To strengthen your application, craft essays that highlight leadership, measurable impact in your roles, and a clear post-MBA goal, such as advancing in private equity or investment banking. You can take a look at schools like Wharton, Columbia and Booth that may align with your background and career goals. Address your GPA context in optional essays and demonstrate readiness to contribute to a collaborative MBA environment. With a well-rounded application, you are a strong contender for M7 schools in Round 2.

If you’d like, we are happy to discuss your leadership skills, impact created, challenges faced, awards and achievements and extracurriculars to assess your chances to top B-schools and strengthen your application with impactful stories.
