GMAT Club Pre - MBA Internships GMAT Club is the premier and leading community for GMAT test-takers and Business School applicants, attracting over 1 million unique visitors per month. GMAT Club has many iconic products that were developed over the years such as
GMAT Club Tests, MBA Spotlight Fairs, YouTube series with GMAT Ninja, Bunuel expert posts,
Decision Tracker, GMAT Club Reviews, Mobile Apps, and many others. All of these projects were a result of our community collaboration and engagement. GMAT Club Pre-MBA Internship is your opportunity to make a lasting impact, get valuable experience managing high-visibility products that will be used by thousands of users each month, and finally, help make MBA applications a better experience for everyone! PM Internships at GMAT Club proved to be very successful in 2021.
Forum Quiz was one of the successful products (there are more coming by the way; they are just stuck in development for the time being)
Goals:1. Improve user experience on GMAT Club
2. Leverage the strength and diversity of our members in shaping GMAT Club’s future
3. Provide a pre-MBA internship opportunity with real Product Management Experience to help with both admissions and career transition
4. Create a safe environment to experiment, try things out, and improve
5. Create more opportunities for GMAT Club users to get involved in decision-making, management, and execution
Pre-MBA Internship Overview:• You will be responsible for setting the strategy and determining the growth path of your product.
• You will get to see and experience how GMAT Club works behind the scenes. You will work with GMAT Club’s founder, moderator team, developers, and designers.
• You will be conducting research such as user surveys, interviews, etc to identify user segments and develop a strategy for multiple profiles
• You will decide the pace of your product. You will be the decision maker when it comes to the time and task at hand. There are no set hours.
• Internship Timeframe: 3.5 months (Starting in Feb, 2022)
• Estimated workload: 15 hrs/week on average. (Some weeks it may be 25 and some only 5); no set hours. This is not intended as a full-time job.
• Deliverables:
- Initial presentation outlining the work to be done during the internship is to be done by the PM intern within 1 month of starting
- Final presentation due upon project completion or end of project
• During the internship you will have an appropriate title on the Forums identifying you as a PM for a specific project
• At the end of the Internships, on request, you will receive a stipend of $1,500, experience letter, reference, and a LinkedIN recommendation from GMAT Club.
• The intern (1 or 2 if it is a tie) that demonstrate the most effort, diligence, and perseverance will receive an additional bonus of $1,500
• Successful candidates may be offered a PM position or extension of their internship for the next phase.
Requirements: 1. R1 Admits Strongly Preferred. (R2 Interview invited are OK)
2. There are no citizenship/location requirements. No age, gender, or other restrictions – everyone is welcome to apply

1. Chat as a Product - Position Filled- We are looking to replace the current chat system and upgrade it with the latest features and architecture
- You will be responsible for setting the vision for the Chatroom experience, chat features, and overall product
- You will need to collect and analyze data for current chat usage as well as conduct a survey about what features GMAT club members are missing
- You will work with developers to build or identify ready-made solutions that will help you achieve your goals and vision
- You will also have access to the UI expert who will perfect the experience
- Qualifications:
- Someone who is a Self-starter and takes initiative is preferred
- Experience with GMAT Club Chat and Mobile App is preferred
- Experience managing projects, working with cross functional teams is helpful but not required
2. GRE Prep Club - You will be responsible for defining the future years of the GRE Prep Club’s strategy
- You will have a chance to be the manager (within limits) of the leading GRE site, and a sister site of GMAT Club
- Analyze strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and strengths
- Work with the budget and present the recommendation for the next steps of GRE Prep Club
- Qualifications:
- Must have taken the GRE
- A high score of at least 325 is preferred
- Ability to process information and boil it down to the very basics
- Self-starter
- Experience reviewing reports and Google analytics is a plus
3. GMAT Club Tests - You will have a chance to make an impact on the hardest and best Quant tests
- Work on the product aspects to refine your scope – we are looking to evaluate all aspects of GMAT Club tests (besides the algorithm and scoring) but in particular – product packages, prices, bundles, analytics, reporting, user journey and experience
- You will need to evaluate current state of GMAT Club Tests, suggest improvements and implement them during your internship project
- You will be responsible for working with multiple stakeholders including UX expert, graphics design, and development resources
- Your opportunities will include either repackaging the tests and coming up with a new product approach or working on the analytics and elevating that experience
- Qualifications
- No programming or technical skills are necessary
- No design/UI skills necessary but general instincts and gut feel for modern functionality is a plus
- Ability to work with diverse groups of stakeholders (users, moderators, advertisers, developers, and a grumpy GMAT Club founder)
- The ideal candidate is someone who has used GMAT Club tests and other prep products
4. GMAT Club UI Improvements- Approximate Start Time (March or even possibly early April), contingent on Stage 1 finishing
- You will work on the next generation of GMAT Club’s UI
- The very hard task will be to simplify, streamline, and untangle many of GMAT Club’s features and decide which to showcase
- You will have to understand what segments of users frequent GMAT Club and what they are looking for
- Your task will be to define the schedule of updates, stages of roll outs, and development resources needed to complete the project
- You will then work with UI experts and Designers to create and publicize the next generation of the GMAT Club’s UI
- This is a multi-stage project with the first internship touching Stage 1
- Qualifications:
- No programming or technical skills are necessary
- No Journalistic experienced needed
- No design/UI skills necessary but general instincts and gut feel for modern functionality is a plus
- Ability to work with diverse groups of stakeholders (users, moderators, advertisers, developers, and a grumpy GMAT Club founder)
5. GMAT Club Reviews- Did you want to know how GMAT Club reviews work and administered? This is your chance to make a difference and definite the path of over 10,000 existing GMAT Club reviews and future as well.
- You will be responsible for envisioning and outlining system features, parameters, and functionality for GMAT Club reviews (some work has already been done to plan a list of new features)
- Your task will be to help build trust and transparency of the reviews published on GMAT Club
- You will be responsible for managing your product and setting up success criteria for the next evolution of this product
- You will work with a team of designers to develop the user experience and programmers to execute it. You will need to work within the timelines of both teams and their schedules to manage the execution
- This project involves conducting user research
- Qualifications:
- No programming or technical skills are necessary
- No design/UI skills necessary but general instincts and gut feel for modern functionality is a plus
- Ability to work with diverse groups of stakeholders (users, moderators, advertisers, developers, and a grumpy GMAT Club founder)
6. Premium Product - GMAT Club is discontinuing the Premium MBA Bundle due to the change in Veritas Prep CAT’s availability (they have been discontinued)
- Your job will be to create a new Premium Package (e.g. Apple One or Google One or Amazon Prime) that would include the best of GMAT Club and package it into one product
- This product may be building on GMAT Club’s current product offering, by partnering with other material providers or leveraging most popular prep products.
- Your responsibility will include building a Cost/Benefit analysis, evaluating options, back testing, conducting user surveys to identify areas of most need and how GMAT Club can satisfy it
- You will create experiments, track results, and suggest improvements
- Qualifications:

ii. Understanding of the GMAT Prep industry and products available on the market
iii. Good communication skills
iv. Creativity and out of the box thinking would be helpful as well

7. Email as a Product - Would you like to make GMAT Club promo emails better?
- Would you like to try to make more effective and drive more revenue while bugging fewer people?
- Your goal would be to find an email service/product/solution to replace or augment our current system
- You will also work on evaluating and optimizing deliverability
- You will also need to figure out how to segment the audience into sub-groups that would benefit from certain content or perhaps should not receive it.
- Finally, you will work to establish an ROI for email as a product
- Ultimately your goal is to make sure GMAT Club does not spam our members and do not send more emails that are not needed and not interesting to the users
- Qualifications:
- Some technical understanding of HTML and code is a plus
- Good communication skills to approach different email providers and create a matrix of features and benefits
- Good eye for design, layout and look feel is a plus
