Can I come even if I don't get in anywhere? :) Shoot, I'd want a vacation to make myself feel better.

I'd totally be down for Brasil. Or how about some place in the Caribbean? Ibiza if we do Europe?

I'm in the middle of pricing out trips to Ibiza, Brazil, and Australia. I should have something posted shortly. I just wanted to bump the thread up so I could easily find it to post the info.

@ faro, all are welcome. And you will get in.

Nice, hope you'll enjoy it!

I spend some time in Manila, Philippines growing up. But I was so young I don't remember much of anything

Do you know your way around? If not I'd suggest you stick with the well traveled path. I heard it is not too safe for foreigners in certain parts of the country these days

No doubt it is a gorgeous place. But as far as "stuff to do," most people go there for the 24/7 clubbing and drug crazy parties.

I will have to disagree with MDF. I've been to Ibiza several times and people don't just go there to "party and fry their brains". Most people that say that have either never been there or go there specifically to "party and fry their brains", which you can do in any major city in the world. Ibiza is beautiful, and there is so much more to do than just party. When we went, we rented a villa on the beach and had the time of our lives. I would highly recommend it as a pre-mba destination.

I would actually recommend the Phillippines as well. It has GREAT beaches (especially in Boracay, El Nido and Pagudpud) and the food is pretty good too!

^I too have been to Ibiza and that was the impression I got.

I'm not saying it's a bad place to visit by any means. But I found that atmosphere hard to ignore...especially in Ibiza Town and San Antonio.

@Cheetarah1980 I won't be able to go, but I've lived in Brazil and visited many times. If you need some tips, just shoot me a PM.

Remember, it will be winter there, so it isn't going to be super warm, especially in the southern areas. Highs in Rio are in the mid 70s and lows around 60 at that time of year if I remember correctly. Places like Salvador, Recife, and Fortaleza have perpetual beach weather though.

throw in Egypt, too, if you want.

I'm from there and things are probably dirt cheap over there now. Plus, we have the added excitement of experiencing a revolution :)

Hey ariz3260, thanks for the concern! I actually know my way around the Philippines, so I should be fine. :)

caux, my man! You are well-traveled! Pagudpud isn't quite as nice as Boracay or El Nido, but it is still a good spot. El Nido is absolutely sick so that's a must-visit. Boracay is awesome for those who like to party at night. Happy Hour drinks are dirt cheap too!

Okay folks, I put together some preliminary details and dates for the trips and will post them one by one so it's easiest to digest. Please bear with me as I'm new to putting together large scale trips. If you have any suggestions to help cut down costs, I'm totally open to it.

Here is trip #1

I. Ibiza – June 30 – July 8. Most flights leave on June 30th and arrive July 1st in the morning or afternoon (except London). Great destination for beach activities and night life.
A. Round trip Flights
1. From JFK - $1365
2. From Ord - $1570
3. From London
a. Option 1(LBW) – Arrive June 30 @ 11p.m.- $403
b. Option 2 (LCY) – Arrive July 1 @ 5p.m. - $434
4. From DEL - $1182
B. Hotels (Total for Double Occupancy)
a. Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes Hotel (****) - $2086
b. El Puerto (**) - $1191

i. Global Star Events started what they call beach Olympics which consists of various activities and games on the beach and in the sea. Beach Olympics has become popular and a lot of fun for large groups.
They know the Island well and they select some of the best beaches on the Island to organize team sports. A selection of sports awaits you on the menu to suite all ages.

This is the week when I'll be moving down to Durham, so I will most likely skip this one.
