05 Days | 10 Passages | Win Prizes | Get Better at GMAT

GMAT Club's Reading Comprehension Quiz-II Starts on Friday, Sep 01, 2023

Why?

Let's conquer Reading Comprehension together! Participate in this competition and get your RC skills polished while winning exciting prizes. This is a 05 days long quiz and you will definitely see improvement in your Reading Comprehension prep, And yes only in case you participate in all 05 days.

How it works:

  • Every day I will post 2 passages for participants to attempt and post explanations.
  • Questions will be posted at 8 am Pacific Time
  • The competition will start on September 1 and end on September 05, Non-stop

Prize for Winners

  • The first position will get GC Tests Elite for 3 months
  • 2nd and 3rd positions will get GC Tests Pro for 3 months
  • 4th and 5th Positions will get GC Forum Quiz subscription for 2 months
(The number of prizes may increase or decrease based on the level of participation)

Competition Rules

  • The questions will be posted in competition mode for 1 day (24 hours) and members cannot see other members’ posts or replies.
  • Members who post explanations will be considered for the prize competition.
  • Copy-paste explanations (if any) will not be accepted and will be deleted.
  • Explanations must be comprehensive, and the reason why wrong answers are wrong and correct answer is correct must be posted.
  • A participant needs to explain all questions of at least 5 RCs to be eligible to win a prize.
  • This master thread will be updated daily so bookmark this thread and keep visiting it to get the new questions and updates
  • Users cannot edit their explanations once submitted.

To get an idea, here are some examples of explanations by the winners from a previous competition.

Below is the summary of what you have been served during the Quiz days.



*Five passages labeled with the "GMAC Official source" tag have been sourced from the Vstudy Books, a pre-2000s GMAT practice question book. According to the book, these questions are purported to be official GMAC material. After conducting research, it has been determined that a significant majority, if not all, of the questions are of good quality and may indeed originate from the official source. Therefore, the "GMAC Official source" tag has been added to the passages based on this research and the likelihood that they are official material. However, it cannot be claimed with complete certainty authority that these questions are 100% official.

The aforementioned passages were originally in JPG format. In order to make them copyable, I utilized OCR software to convert the images into text. Next, I pasted the text into a Microsoft Word document to identify any spelling or grammatical errors and subsequently removed any such errors. Although the JPG images were not entirely clear and may contain typos, I made every effort to ensure that the resulting text was of high quality, as I believe this would be of value to our members.

Sajjad1994: Just wanted to express my gratitude again for this quarter's RC quiz. Your painstaking efforts in not just converting JPEGs to text, but answering every one of our queries with patience, finding new source material, being extremely approachable and just going the extra mile - ensured this was very fun! (Winning it was a joy, and wish it was for more days!)
Also: Catman PK1: your explanations taught me how to process reasoning better always - thanks for making me want to put in effort!!
