On GMAT, how to decide the order of sections, like which to attempt 1st, 2nd and 3rd to maximise score?
That actually is dependent on what you like
You have got two different silutions and both are correct,it just that what suits you the most

I heard you should take the section which is the hardest for you personally first, then 10 minutes break, the easiest and the last. I did that and it felt quit good tbh compared to others
But wont it decrease my score at first, like if i get around 80 in that and i am good in quants and CR, wont that affect further scores?

The section all start from scratch again I think. It doesnt really matter how good you scored in the section first. Cause otherwise it would also mean if you score extremely good on Quant and DI and then go over to you Verbal section were you aint that strong you would result in a bad score in that section

At the end as mentioned here whatever suits best some also want to start with a good feeling for example

My theory- As sections are adaptive.. the first if
the hardest, will go relatively bad.
Which means the next section will be easy initially. And it is already your strength so it will go best.. then the last section will be hard initially. But you know it moderately well so it might not go that bad.

As per my understanding after attending a few GMAC webinars, you’ll start with a medium question for the first one in all of the three sections, how you start your section decides the flow of respective section. It’s your choice, if you wish to go for your hardest sections at the very beginning of the end.

I feel so personal choice for many. I know that if I start with the hard section, I may give up if I believe I did not do well on the subsequent ones. That’s the risk of this strategy.

E.g. I took a verbal last which was my weakest section and I felt I was failing the whole time. In reality I did better than I did on quantum which was my stronger section, but it kept feeling like I was feeling and if I took it first I would’ve given up and wouldn’t put the effort on the next section.

Does anyone have conclusive answer to whether the test is section adaptive or not?

This has been a very challenging question for many, and the reason is that apparently there is some adaptability between sections but rather sections being adaptive it’s really previous section having a bit of an impact on the very first question you’re going to answer in the next section. And that’s a very very small impact so no one really needs to worry about the suspect.

Say one starts with Verbal and gets a 85-86

Then if next section is quant, it would start at 705-805 or 805+ level?

As on GMAT club I have often seen first question being 805+

I dont think this would happen in offical GMAT exam since the first 4-5 questions are really important in deciding your further question levels

That’s surprising as our tests are also set to start at a medium level.

This may be due to you seeing the forum difficulties while the tests have their own difficulty calc.

Yes, this is something I’ve heard repeatedly about official mocks and it still baffles me. I agree, maybe the ability calculation works differently compared to how candidates perform on GMAT Club

The correct answer here is something which is already state in the argument. It is not an official question.
Why can’t option B and D act as stengthener?
