Hey,

I have the same doubt - would be great if you could mention how you feel we should prepare in case it was harder than OG mocks

Hey guys,

I had my “enhanced online gmat” exam today. The one everybody was waiting for so much. 😉

What can I say?

I took it on a MacBook Air 11’ screen, but worked well. OS X High Sierra on it. Crashed my MacBook Pro, when trying to downgrade the OS from Big Sur to Catalina. Unfortunately, Mba.com did not reply to my request, if Big Sur would be okay.

Anyways, checkin was all good. I shared my screen using the application go to meeting, which I had to download and install during the checkin process.

I chose to start with verbal and continued with quant.

Breaks were all okay. At the first one, I showed my whiteboard according to the instructions, stood up, went to the restroom and after being at my table again, I was asked why I left without telling anything to my proctor. As I did not know that I had to tell anything to him before I left, I just did what I did. Normally, you should tell that you leave before you do, so don’t forget. Still, my proctor was okay. A good person, who is aware that my actions were recorded on screen during the whole test.

Integrated reasoning was okay.

My proctor talked to me one time during the quant section and one time during the IR section of the test. He wanted me to tilt my screen a bit making sure that I was not doing whatever I may have done, except for focusing as hell. Bit disturbing, but still doable.

Finally, in AWA, the writing part was really annoying. This is the only thing I can really criticize about this exam. On some occasions, when I pressed shift, in order to write capitalized letters - e.g beginning a new sentence - it just selected the previous paragraph and I DELETED, what I was writing before. This happened various times to me. I managed to adapt to the situation, but it was still a real hassle.

You can see the final unofficial results immediately after completing AWA. For me it was:

710, Q49, V40, IR7

Cheers
Rudolf

Woow, congrats. Great result!

How was the exam? Is it hard from the mock or they are the same? Why I ask it because other test takers state that exam mostly quant part is very hard than usual mock exams. I would be delighted if you could answer my question. I will give exam within 2 weeks😟

Hey alienvyas

The exam was the same. No difference at all, I think. My quant was very hard, but I think it also depends a bit on luck, if you want to score super high. Other circumstances may have shown me questions that would have been easier for me to solve. Anyways, I did not feel much difference from the Q/V reasoning parts one encounters in the official mocks.

Cheers

rudywip, it is interesting to hear that the proctor asked you about leaving. I wonder if that's the new policy or if that is just a training issue. I know during the last GMAT Online iteration, there were training issues with proctors so this could be the case here too but a good tip (appreciate it) to talk to the proctor. It seems a diff approach than before.

-BB.

Maybe. I just thought that I may have over heard or over read the policy, but all went well and I just recommend to inform the proctor before leaving the table or just talk to the person in the very beginning at the check in process. At least, it's not a robot. A real person one can talk to. 😉

I hoped for Q49 - 51 and would have been totally fine with V40 - 42. Anyways, although I got Q49 and V40 in the test, my test score of 710 differed from the same Q/V combination in my last mock, which resulted in 730 two weeks ago.

It'd be interesting to know how things turn out with your score (i.e. GMAC changing it later on).

Yeah… Super annoying about 710. Here’s a dBrief just got posted 30 minutes ago with exactly the same split and the 730. Sorry man 😬😢

Hi rudywip,

Great debrief! I have never heard of a 710 composite from that Q/V combination before. Now that it's official, perhaps you will take solace in the one person whose Verbal score was adjusted weeks later by GMAC from V50 to V51, after it was discovered here on GMAT Club (via his ESR) that he actually answered every counted question correctly:

https://gmatclub.com/forum/q51-v50-253258.html

I know you mentioned that you are using Mac OS High Sierra. Would you mind specifying exactly which version?

Thanks. :please:

I took it on a MacBook Air 11’ screen, but worked well. OS X High Sierra on it. Crashed my MacBook Pro, when trying to downgrade the OS from Big Sur to Catalina. Unfortunately, Mba.com did not reply to my request, if Big Sur would be okay.

Dear rudywip,

I have a MacBook Air with Big Sur OS. Though I have downloaded the ESsec browser, it doesn't open. The system requirements page of MBA.com says the OS must be Mac OS 10.14 and above., so why did you downgrade to High Sierra ?

You mentioned that you had sent a mail inquiring about the compatibility of Big Sur, did you get a reply? I have also sent a mail to examity and GMAT, but they haven't replied yet.

In your case, were you able to open the browser after you had downloaded it ( when you had done your system check a day prior or so)?

I am a little worried because my exam is scheduled for tomorrow.

Thanks

Hey,

The system requirements of the secure browser, which are specified in a pdf that you can reach through a link on the system check page of Examity - the one browser page you use to verify that your webcam, internet connection and so on are okay, did not cover Big Sur. They are only up to Catalina. Therefore, I wrote mba.com an email, but never received a reply, although promised by an automatic message to be sent within 48 hours. Anyways, examity cannot help you with the secure browser. They are not responsible for it. This is the job of mba.com. At least that is what examity staff told me. The secure browser cannot be opened by you, so there is no way to check, if it really works. Maybe some tech guys on the forum know a smart solution, but I did not. The secure browser can only be triggered by the proctor during the test to open. It will not open before, so do not worry about this one.

My suggestion is: Get a backup computer, try to partition your hard drive and install an older OS X, which is quite complicated or partition your hard drive and install a compatible Windows version on it.

P.S. If your internet connection is not perfectly stable, consider buying a data option on your phone - 10 GB was enough for me - and write the test using a hotspot on your phone connected to a power source. LTE is very stable in most regions without many fluctuations.

Thanks for your reply.

Yeah, I just noticed the browser requirements. It is strange. Last week I had my EA test with the same laptop, and it went well.

I think I will have to do a partition for windows(which I am sure will take some time).

And for the internet part, I have wifi with a UPS, which would cater for 3-4 hrs. The internet has rarely gone down, and I hope it doesn't screw up tomorrow.

Congratulations on your score, although looking at your split, you should indeed have got a 730 overall.

I took my Enhanced GMAT Online exam on 21st May as well but I'm still waiting for the official score report. Seeing that you got your Official Score Report on 22nd May, i.e a Saturday, we can assume that the 7 Business Days stated on mba.com shall include Saturdays as well. (I am on a deadline to submit my score)

Hey UserMaple5

thanks a lot for your empathy!

Unfortunately, I did not get a reply yet. There is only customercare@mba.com provided as a contact E-Mail. Examity does not take any responsibility in this connection and there is nobody, who I can call. bb do you maybe have someone I could reach out to?

Hey Sidakpreet

I feel very sorry for you and can't explain myself why I got the score so quickly, so you just have to be patient, I guess.
