I have a test before May 20th, can I go to the bathroom during 5 mins break?

Posted from my mobile device

Yes. You can. Just make sure to show your whiteboard to the camera before you leave to show that it has nothing.

Note that you will most likely not hear back from the proctor if you ask them for permission to use the bathroom during that five minute break. At least not until your next section starts and then they will probably disrupt your integrated reasoning with their comments telling you that you can go to the bathroom or telling you that they need consult with a manual and then ping you many more times. 😬

Thank you bb!

Do you know where to click to launch the exam? I can't seem to find it. Or will it be available within 15 mins prior to the exam?

There's only system test link

Hi everyone, I have a query I couldn't find the answer to in the thread. I scheduled the in-person exam for the 8th of May. But last week a lockdown got imposed in my area. So I will not be able to travel to the center even if the center is operational. I tried to reschedule it to the online version but couldn't find a link anywhere. Anyone had a similar experience? Also, if this has been answered already or there is a separate thread for this, could anyone provide the link for the same?
Thanks

Hii ojus3639,

You can’t directly reschedule in-person version to online version. 1st you have to cancel the in-person exam from your end and then you can book for a new test. But because of lockdown test centers aren’t operating, so I think the exam will be cancelled from Pearson’s end. Contact person folks to confirm the same.

Thanks indonihon,

I called the pearson customer care, and they have generated a request for cancellation and refund(considering the lockdown). It should get approved in 3-4 days ideally. After getting the approval, I can book the slot for online exam. Thanks for the help.

Hi ojus3639,

Do you have the pearson customer care contact number for India? I have a similar situation - lockdown imposed in my state, but could not contact the GMAC customer service as they are not operational on weekends.

Were you able to reschedule online exam post cancellation?

Thanks!

Hi PrabhakarS,

You may contact the Pearson Vue using this number - 0008004401837. However, I'm not sure if they are operating on the weekend.
And yes, I was able to book another slot once I got the refund for the cancellation. They'll guide you through the process if you ask.

Hey,

My gmat exam is on 14th May.I have booked an online test however after reading multiple reviews that the online test is way harder than the in person test, I am a little tensed :D

Can same one share his/her experience of online vs in person test? Is this just a speculation?

This is a pure speculation as far as we know. The only person who would be a good judge or example of performance would be someone who took both tests back to back. We have had people take both (last being in Dec) and their scores were consistent. Some scored more on the online test and others vice versa.

I don’t know that we have sufficient information except some anecdotal information which unfortunately is impossible to use to validate or disprove anything. So I can’t tell that I have seen any evidence either way.

We’re reviews you read were from people who indeed took a test at the center or someone who took a practice test at home?

I have a wall of photos right next to my study desk - would that be an issue for taking the GMAT online?

It shouldnt be a problem. I had a photo wall right behind me while giving the exam and the proctor was fine with it.
I still think it would be better if you cover it up with a bedsheet, if possible.

Hi,
In the new version, are we allowed to get up and leave during the 8 minute breaks?
As in move away from the camera, say to go to the washroom?

Thank You.

Hi bb, mcelroytutoring,

This is with respect to Examity (Enhanced GMAT Online). I scheduled an appointment for 23rd-May (9:30 AM IST). To my surprise, after payment, I was shown appointment confirmation for a different candidate name and date. In addition, no email confirmation was sent regarding appointment and the appointment does not reflect in Examity Dashoboard.

I am worried now whether such things can happen on exam day where-in there can be mix up of scores etc. I will be calling Examity support and send them e-mails. My question to you is - how do I let GMAC know that such things are happening on the ground? Is there any e-mail ID for GMAC I can copy while sending e-mails to support@examity.com ?

Thanks,
Prabhakar

Hi Members,

I gave an exam in the test centre in November 2020 and got 690 (Q48, V37). Foolishly, just to try my luck, I registered for an online exam which was in the next 7 days. I didn't practise much and attempted the exam, hoping to get a Q49/50 and a higher verbal score. I ended up with a Q41 and V38 (650).

I just concluded that the online quant is harder.

Fast-forwarding to today, I scheduled a test centre exam for June 04, 2021. My test is not cancelled as yet, but given the situation in Mumbai (India), it is less likely that physical testing will re-open. (More background, this is my 5th exam within the last 12 months. I will have to wait until Aug 29, 2021, to be able to give another exam, which is late as I am aiming for R1 this year)

The new online testing rules, make the exam format similar to the test centre exam, I am writing to get views from form members regarding their experience in the quant section of the online exam

Regards,
VIVA

Hi. Unfortunately there is a pattern of issues like these happening over and over again. Several people have reported getting other people’s information … which is crazy.

Since you still have a bottom months, I would send an email or contact support through chat or something like that in a non-urgent way. They definitely familiar with this issue since we’ve had numerous reports of this happening in this very topic.

However, it should not be an issue on the exam day. You don’t need to worry about that. You will get your score was the score report right after the test. Your ID will also be matched with the name in the picture.

Sorry you have to deal with this now.

Hi bb,

Thank you for a quick response. Good to know that the score reports after the exam will be accurate and that GMAC is aware of such issues. Will have this sorted with Examity.

Thanks,
Prabhakar
