I just did the GMAT Prep test. As other posters noted above, there were quite a few questions repeated from the OG (both SC and CR).

Anyway, I have a question about the AWA. I diligently did both my essays, knowing that they won't be graded, because I wanted to practice writing those essays in the time allocated and I was hoping to later copy the answers to this forum to get feedback. However, there seems to be no way I can go back and copy my essays. Does anyone know if there is a way to do so?

I've tried installing GMAT prep v 2005 on two different computers. The file downloads just fine...but when I try to run the .EXE set up file...nothing happens. Has anyone else encountered this issue? will appreciate constructive and prompt feedback. thank you!

You should set compatibility settings on this file to be windows 2000 or windows Xp.
It runs fine on my windows 7 :?

BB- I never get a message like the one you got. What could be wrong?
I have deleted the old version of GMAT prep completely from my system. I have windows as well.

Hey BB:

I took the the GMAT Prep v 2005 EXE file to a software expert and was told the file does not work. Is there someone who has the uncorrupted version or another source where I could maybe find it at?

Thanks,
s

Not sure - it worked for me and many others... really puzzling. I can still download and it works. I guess just move on...

Has anyone discussed the grading between the two? I understand that GMATPrep itself uses the same algorithm to calculate a score as the real deal, but for some reason, my GMATPrep1 score just seems to be lower than my GMATPrep 2 scores, for several times now. Anyone has the same issue?

Same issue, but opposite tests 1>2

I am writing my gmat with in next 30 days. I want to start taking Gmat Prep tests. I read the forum and felt that we can take each test twice before questions will start repeating. My question is : If I am taking any test 2nd time, should I delete the logs or keep the logs (under dir C:\Program Files\GMATPrep\Exams).

Please advice.

Thanks for posting the downloads. The best practice test is the one that they actual administer, and this is as close as it gets!

Installed both versions, both seem to work for me. Is the second download the same one from the GMAT website?

One of them is discontinued (first version) and the second one is the same as from MBA.com

I think it may be helpful to edit the original post to make it clear if the GMAT Prep 2006 version is the same as the one available on mba.com. I say this because if I download the 2005 version and the 2006 version off this post, they look the same. The 2006 version is copyrighted 2005 and 2008 so this is a bit confusing.

I uninstalled the software and reinstalled and I am probably getting about 1/3 repeats from the 1st time I took it for Quant and a little more for the verbal. I was expecting to see a lot more fresh problems.
