Hello Clubbers,
I am Srikanth from Hyderabad.
I gave my GMAT today and scored a 460 mark.
Profile:
Software Engineer, PG Dip(Accounting and Finance), Analyst (Mergers & Acquisitions)
Table tennis player, Singer and Active Charity Fund Raiser.
Preparation time:
16 hours * 30 days = 480 hours
Material followed:
OG 12, OG13, OG Verbal and Quant books
RS Aggarwal, Manhattam Strategy guides, SC Grail and Brutal SC 1000.
Performance Progress
Test 1 = 370 With out preparation
Test 2 = 580 After a week of preparation
Test 3 = MGMAT (690)
Test 4 = GMAT Prep (650)
Test 5 = GMAT Prep 2 (720)
(I had a break up with my girl friend at this level)
Test 6 = 540 GMAT Prep Again
Test 7 = 470 GMAT Prep 2 Again
I have no excuses and I am not shattered.
I know the time i used is VERY LESS.
If a target is set around 750+ (Yes, i did, because i have low grades in my Under graduation) at least 3 months - 5 months of time
must be allocated (On 2-3 hours a day basis).
Rigorous study plans, in most cases, will destroy your thinking power because of too much stress on brain.
Yes, 750+ needs some rigorous preparation, especially people who studied in very low ranked schools.
Cracking verbal is the only key to get a solid 750+
I am planning to apply for Kellogg Class of 2014 in R3, or INSEAD for September 2013 intake (deadline March 2013)
Booked my GMAT on Feb 15th 2013.
Warning: For serious guys who want to crack into One of the TOP MBA programs,Remember, GMAT is like Mother! Respect it.
Don't involve your personal or professional thoughts and disturb your GMAT.
Stay away from your Girl Friend, Friends for some days and be alone to yourself and DEDICATE yourself into it.

Keep your head up. Your practice tests show that you have real potential to achieve a great score. It is obvious that you were under a lot of stress and that hurt your performance on the actual GMAT. Keep working and it will happen.
