I would highly recommend this web address from dictionary.com-

https://dynamo.dictionary.com/ - it has different sections for which you can learn (for fun learning you may choose play cards, I personally find this stuff very useful.)

Yup this "fun" part is what makes the learning so easy- I had tough time memorizing all those sophisticated/buzz words but I accidentally stumbled over this site and kind of got hooked to it for any meaning issue!

That's a great question :).

One approach is definitely to read with a dictionary nearby (wordnik.com is a great online dictionary that not only pools together the leading dictionaries but also offers in-context use from trusted sources across the web). You should also be on the look out for words that are being used in a way that is different from that of colloquial speech. For instance, 'maintain' in the context of an RC passage most likely means to assert (it most likely does not mean to keep something in good condition).

A trove of such words is Magoosh's vocabulary Ebook. While the book is geared towards those taking the GRE, the e-book will oftentimes point out which words are likely to pop up in RC (for either GRE of GMAT). Words such as 'ambivalent', 'undermine', etc.

https://magoosh.com/gre/2012/gre-vocabulary-ebook/

Hope you find the book the helpful, and don't hesitate to ask any more questions :)
