Following are some of the questions we have compiled for interview preparation

The Big Five:
  • Walk me through your resume
  • Why MBA? Why now?
  • What your short-term and long-term goals?
  • Why School X?
  • What can you contribute to School X?

Curveball: What if your post-MBA plan A doesn’t work, what’s your plan B?

Some popular behavioral questions:
Tell me about a time when you
  • led a team
  • worked with people with different opinions/ worked in a diverse team
  • faced a lot of opposition
  • did something innovative
  • had to lead without formal authority
  • failed
  • had to work with a difficult team member
  • made a mistake, and what did you learn from it
  • had to make a difficult decision
  • received constructive feedback
  • faced an ethical dilemma
  • had a poor manager
  • had to work in a dynamic/high-pressure situation

Some more “inward-looking/self-awareness” questions:
  • Who is a leader you admire and what do you admire about them?
  • What kind of leader are you?
  • How has your leadership style evolved from the time you were in undergrad to now?
  • What are your biggest strengths?
  • What are your biggest weaknesses? What are your biggest growth opportunities at the moment?
  • How would your colleagues describe you
  • What are the three adjectives your friend would use to describe you?
  • What do you dislike about your job?
  • What are you most proud of?
  • What do you do in your spare time?
  • Tell me about one of your favorite hobbies
  • Tell me about a book you read recently?
