The questions in the two sets of tests are most not the same, though there may be a little overlap.
So, you'll get some good practice by taking the Focus Edition practice tests, though the timing on them is not the same as that on the classic GMAT.
Frankly, I have not seen any overlap at all. I’m quite impressed with the GMAC being able to bring a whole new question bank for the gym focus edition.
As long as you’re confident that you will not be taking the focus edition and you will not mess up your scores, definitely leverage those official questions.
There are enough questions for multiple tests by the way so you can get two or maybe even three rounds before you start running into repeats 👍👍👍
