Got 420 in my 1st GMAT Prep test ...HELLLPPP!!

Question

Hi, Took my first GMAT prep test today and scored a dismal 420

Am very bad at maths and have exactly 2 months before the d-day!!plz help with suggestions regarding study plan and books.Thanks in advance...

Here's the bare basic study plan:

Use your practice test to determine what your biggest weakness is. Work from your weakest section up. Make sure you keep an error log to determine the WHY aspect of answering problems incorrectly.

Use the book review thread (best-gmat-books-77703.html) to purchase the materials that best fill in where your needs are. Take a practice test when you feel you've made progress and use the results to assess progress and adjust your study plan (if needed). Continue working to your goal.

Also, I'd recommend reading debriefs as there are people who started off in the sub 500 score and mustered out 650+ scores.

i think if you are weak at maths you should make that as your first priority and work up on the basics
I would recommend going through OG concepts and MGMAT basics.

Hi, have been studying as following:
1)subscribed to 60 day GMAT mails(unable to keep pace with them due to various reasons)
2)Completed MGMAT Basic fundamentals of Maths(this atleast helped me to start preparing!)
3)Have started studying OG & MGMAT 8 Strategy guides as per 60 dy mail pattern

Am very confused regarding my preparation...Plz advice regarding study plan (can easily devote around 5-6 hrs everyday)
Am getting more panicky with each passing day...

Definitely download an error log from the above website and keep track of every question you do. I find myself learning a lot when I time myself for each question I do, whether it's from a book or from a practice test I'm reviewing. And then immediately after I do the question, while I still have the process fresh in my mind, I go ahead and review the answer explanation either from the book or from this website. The process does wonders. Sometimes I only get a few questions done (for quant) every morning while I study before work, but I can confidently say that whatever questions I do go over, I can grasp the concepts and apply them to other problems down the line. Plus it's a great way to stay organized and not have your brain so scattered.
