Btw, as a part of the requirements an "at home" test taker has to use a non-permanent marker and an erasable whiteboard. I personally prefer fine point markers, so I found some good stuff at Amazon.

Staedtler markers
A set of 10 erasable whiteboards, should be enough for the entire test.

Maybe a micro hidden camera in the magnet just on the fridge behind you whilst you are taking the tests.

:lol:

I do think instead this is good news. Moreover, if you are a serious person/student you are not going to cheat. Just exploit this charming opportunity without bothering to get infected along the way to the test center :cool:

Will the proctor be able to access my personal computer files and documents without my knowledge?

Our proctors cannot access your computer files without your knowledge. Everything they do will be shown on your screen and they cannot perform "hidden" actions. This access is only granted with your explicit permission and after you've clicked a button to confirm.

Proctors have the ability to view the screen and utilize the mouse and keyboard as if they were sitting next to you. Once the exam starts, your proctor will monitor everything on the computer screen, but can no longer utilize the your mouse and keyboard.

During the entire process, a chat box is running on your computer and you can see what permissions the proctor currently has at any time. The entire chat session log is saved, including a permanent record of what actions the proctor took while accessing your computer.

Got it. I am guessing they meant something else when they said Secure Browser: https://www.ets.org/s/cv/gre/at-home/equipment/
My guess is that the test is not taken in Chrome or Firefox; you just need those for login/registration?

Yes. I agree.

Moreover, my feeling is that our conjectures (of course, we just talking about these possible scenarios) about a hidden camera or a record in the background on our computer to secretly record the exam is not that easy.

carcass, are you very sure that MacOS is supported?

Must use Windows® operating system, versions 10, 8, 7, Vista™ or XP
Must use a QWERTY keyboard

UPDATE: dear test taker, if you follow the link in my post you can see that you will have to "Install the ETS Secure Browser", and this is an .exe file that can only be installed in Windows OS. So, unless you configured your Mac to run Windows, you will need to have a Windows PC/laptop.

Tomorrow I will send an email to ETs and see if they have the will to release a version for mac users

Odd only for windows. it depends a lot on things such as API and else.

However, the problem is relative because you can install windows on a mac via Bootcamp which is OFFICIALLY supported by Apple

Windows because its a bit easier to administer processes running on the computer than a Linux machine. Hence, they must have got one version out for the time being. Their software can detect any kind of virtualization so boot camp might not work.

GMAT may not follow suit but it may do something different. They may ship equipment or use Face ID or they can create a shorter and smaller test like EA. They can also require students to retest when they start business school.

There are options. Life does not have to stop.

Yes. I can even have a python script running in the background and can take screenshots every 5 to 10 seconds to save the images in an hidden folder or transfer to some cloud location or whatever.
