Hello;
I took the GRE earlier in the year and scored a 335 out of 340 with Quant=169 and Verbal=166. The ETS conversion tool on-line says that this converts to a 770 GMAT score but I am wondering if Admissions Committees view a 335 GRE as the same as a 770 GMAT?
What do you think? How do schools view this GRE score relative to GMAT scores?
Most schools are still very much in the process of studying how much the GRE is indicative of classroom success. For this reason, GMAT is preferred but the GRE won't hold you back at all. The Adcom very likely relies on the ETS conversion tool with maybe some kind of in-house predictive back end adjustment. Like how well GRE corresponds to success in the classroom vs. GMAT for their particular school.
I wish I could give you a more definitive answer but it is a bit of a black box for everyone right now. What I can say is that it's a great score, and you are in good shape for your apps. By no means should you rely on this to get you in, especially if you are Indian or Chinese, but you are qualified to apply to top schools.
This might help
