Extract from GSB discussion boards which may be interesting for R1 waitlists:
Q: Does AdCom compare R2 applicants with R1 waitlisted candidates when making admit decisions for the March 28 deadline? That is, are R2 applicants inherently competing against R1 waitlisted candidates for the admit spots to be released on March 28? If the answer is no, then does AdCom decide on who will be admitted among the R2 applicants first, and depending on the THEN available spots, make decisions to admit some R1 waitlisted candidates? Your clarification will be highly appreciated. Thanks.
A:Your second guess was more accurate; while the process is a little more complex than that, R1 waitlisted students are looked at for possible spots in the class as we are reviewing R2 candidates. All R1 waitlisted students and R2 applicants will be notified of a decision on March 28th.

I think the interview really blew me out of this one entirely. To a certain extent I am glad I wasn't waitlisted as the uncertainty of that would be painful.

Now I am in a one horse town awaiting on seeing whether I get the horse. The next week will be torture for my relationship, that is for sure.

Rejected. Having already finalized my plans with another school makes it easier to take but my ego is a little hurt. I'm actually a little surprised. I thought my GSB application was my best one and I thought I did a better than average job describing why GSB would be a good fit for me. But my interview was a disaster.
