Just checked status. Rejected.
I am thinking whether to apply for next year or to join anderson (admitted) this year. Any suggestions are welcome.
Indian, semiconductors, 4yrs exp, 690GMAT, Chem.Engg, PhD (UG-3.9GPA,PhD-4.0).

Honestly, I think the MBA program is what you make out of it. In the long run, the school name will not matter. With your awesome background, I think Anderson would do you equal justice as Haas. Go for Anderson.

I've been lurking for a while. Round 2 applicant, interviewed, and now on the waitlist. Female, 5.5 years in nonprofit/government, strong extracurricular leadership, GRE Score of 720 Q, 600 V, 5.5 Writing (Comes out to 650 GMAT on the conversion tool), 3.5 undergrad GPA from a Public Ivy.

My GRE Quant score didn't quite make the cutoff so my math prereq is incomplete. Is anyone else in the math incomplete bucket? I'd like to complete the prereq before the next decision date to strengthen my application, which means taking the waiver in April or May. The Haas-provided "study guide" is pretty broad and vague - anyone have any stronger recommendations for how to prepare?

I'd also take the Anderson admit. They're both top 20 schools and both have more opportunities than you'll be able to take advantage of.

I thought Haas was top 10 (more like 7)?

Haas tends to come in around #7, Anderson somewhere around #13. I just mean they're both in the top 20 business schools in the country. Realistically, there's not going to be a gigantic difference in career opportunities between both schools. People like to make a huge deal out of the difference between say Harvard and Duke, but realistically it's mostly what you do with it and less about the pedigree. Unless you're going in to banking or management consulting, there realistically is zero difference to your career as long as they're both good schools.

Hell, have you ever seen the CNBC show about behind the scenes at HBS? I think it's on Netflix now if you haven't. I looked up the two people the show followed. They're both in generic middle management positions.

If you got in to Anderson and not Haas, go to Anderson. If you didn't want to go to Anderson, why did you apply (aim4mba2012, not riskall)? If the tables were turned and it was me, I'd be signed up for Anderson at the moment.

There's a Berkeley stats 21 class on iTunes. I've gone through about 1/2 of it so far and it's great.

Unfortunately, I can't. The class I'm in uses "understanding statistics" and it's one of the least helpful math textbooks I've read.

Plus another 200 for the waitlist thread. I guess we're the more motivated group

Another 80 posts or so and we pass the HBS thread.
