I've decided not to check my email until I get home tonight, and to put it lightly this thread is making me BEYOND nervous. I am less than optimistic about my chances. If you haven't shared yet, i'm sure rest of the community would appreciate seeing the profiles associated with our eventual results. Mine is below.
Profile
GMAT: 730+ GPA:between 3.4 and 3.6 WE (at matric): 2.6 Years at top NGO Dual Citizen (Africa/USA) Nervousness: 150/100
What was the subject line of the Waitlist Letter and Interview invite? Did anyone receive a ding email amd what was the subject on that?

Nope, the ding email just states you have an update on your application. You then have to login to the HBS app and there will be an update. Once you click through it will show the ding message.
Also waitlisted. I wonder if there are many more of us this year?
My subject line was "HBS Decision Available Online", though I also got the 2+2 email.
Unrelatedly, essaysnark, thanks for all your posts and keep 'em coming! They've been good reads (even if I don't always take the advice of "stop fretting") during tense times.
Congrats to those who got an interview. To those who got dinged - you are in good company. A friend of mine got dinged. His profile - Top Scholar (Rhodes/Marshall/Churchill), M Phil Cambridge, Multiple BA degrees with Eco Minor from non ivy, 750 GMAT, 2 Years Top 3 consulting (Mckinsey/BCG/Bain), Excellent recommendations and extracurricular activities. So take heart and best of luck in other applications
To all of those who got dinged, chins up - still many great schools out there! Its been wonderful to be able to share the nerves with everyone here, and in some ways its quite a relief to be able to move on to thinking about the round 2 apps and stop fretting. For those interested:
760 GMAT 3.6ish Liberal Arts School Masters econ - large public 3 years W/E cofounder at large educational startup
Yeah...I told myself I wouldn't care either way since HBS is such a shot in the dark, but it sucks. Oh well, time to focus on bigger things. Good luck to everyone who's interviewing or waitlisted. For those who got dinged like me, hope you have better luck with your other schools
I am a 2+2 applicant. I received an email saying my application status was online, however online it still just says submitted. I've read that some people also got a 2+2 email. Are they slowly emailing everyone? I'm just trying to figure out why my status hasn't changed yet. Even if I am dinged, I just want the anticipation to be over..
mine did... and i got deferred too... not sure what that means.
@ganteymula, it's good news - you're on the waitlist and you will be up for getting an interview invite again with the Round 2 cycle in late Jan./early Feb. Many people in your shoes end up getting in - it's a drawn-out process but it could happen! We see it every year. You're totally still in the running. But it also means you'll need to move ahead w/ Round 2 apps at other schools if you're determined to be headed to bschool in the fall (just as an insurance policy).
This is a glass-half-full situation - but you're also in a bit of limbo for many months. Congrats that your app is still alive at HBS!!

I was in the same boat around this time last year. Got an invite Round 2 and was admitted. Hang in there and focus on your other apps...It will all work out in the end (if not at HBS, then at some other AMAZING school)
Yeah - yet the blog said the deferral set was up to ~100-150 (on the Sept. 18 post): A group of Round One applicants, possibly 100-150, will be placed under "further consideration." These candidates will be re-viewed in Round Two and either be invited to interview or released on the Round Two timetable.
