After reading through the forum, it seems that being 30 and over at time of matriculation is practically an automatic ding for HBS unless you are a MD, ex-athlete, ex-military.
I would like to apply to HBS but would be 30 by matriculation (fall of 2012). Without changing the topic to a profile evaluation, I would like to ask how true the above statement is. Is there any point whatsoever in applying to HBS if you will be 30 by matriculation?
In other words, will the ad com even seriously consider an application from someone who will be 30 by matriculation or is 30 a unspoken automatic ding.
The cold hard truth would be appreciated, even if it merely confirms my fears.
Thanks!
Obviously we don't know how many applied in the different age ranges, but
this chart (from Dee Leopold's blog) seems to show that if you have 7-8 years of work experience when you apply, your chances are seriously compromised at HBS. However it isn't the only b-school in the world.
Maybe you do want an profile evaluation?
