Here in A ..tempos(i don't know what it is, may be a chemical) is compared with mass administration - is it correct to structure a sentence like this ..or m i missing some thing here .
logically comparison should be anti - parasitic drugs and tempos.

B. Which is non essential modifier but the information given in the original sentence is essential to convey the message.

Here we are comparing the worth of using tempo and using mass administration of anti-parasitic drugs.

A is correct by POE.

A- just as Tempos is applied to every source of water to purify the few that might actually harbor the Guinea Worm

B- like Tempos, which is applied to every source of water to purify the few that might harbor the Guinea Worm --> We are not comparing a chemical with usage of another chemical.

C- similar to Tempos which is applied to every source of water to purify the few that might actually harbor the Guinea Worm --> Same as B.

D- while, to purify the few that might actually harbor the Guinea Worm, Tempos is applied to every source of water --> It is changing the meaning.. Using while shows the contrast but we need to compare the worth. Hence, incorrect

E- similar to the application of Tempos to every source of water to purify the few that might harbor the Guinea Worm actually -> Here application of one is compared with another. But as per the meaning we need to compare the worth of applying one with that of another.

B and C compare ‘Tempos’ to the administration of other anti-parasitic drugs. D uses passive voice. E compares a noun to a verb.
A is the right answer.
