Hi guys, on the interview when you're asked about "recent news", do they ask things about France? Worldwide news? How should I prepare for this?

Hi Nicolas,
Yes, they do ask questions about France as well as any recent news that might be relevant to your initial field of study, especially if you have studied business before.
As an example, when I was interviewed by HEC back in 2014, it coincided with the nomination of Manuel Valls as Prime Minister in François Hollande's government (to be even more precise, it happened on the eve of my interview). So naturally I was asked that as well as whether I think that Valls would do a good job.
My advice is to continuously watch and read any news outlet/newspaper/website, especially regarding France, up until your interview date.
