I am an engineer. Work ex 4 years in “Engineering sector” in India. Average percentage in Engineering degree is
67 % (GPA 3.5 approx). Results of GMAT attempts as under.
1. 550 (Q 45, V19)
2. 340 (don’t know the break up)
3.
610 (Q 49, V 25) (1st June 2012)Material used:
1. All
MGMAT books for verbal and quant
2. All three official guide books
3. All three Kaplan books
Overall performance for 3rd attempt was good compare to 1st and 2nd and everything going good. Mock results were also good and average of 700 and Average score in
Quant around 45 to 50 and
Verbal around 35 to 42.1. GMAT prep 1: 680

MGMAT 1: 650
3.
MGMAT 2: 700
4.
MGMAT 3: 720
5.
MGMAT 4: 680
6. GMAT prep 2: 700
Now don’t under what to do? Where to apply? Should I go for 4th attempt? If this many attempts will hurt my profile?
Not understanding what to do? Lots of confusion?

Hi,
Your GMAT Scores are very low, so I would suggest you to definitely go for the 4th attempt. If you are targeting some good B schools for your MBA, then a score of 610 the odds will be definitely against you.
In reality the number of attempts at GMAT doesn't matter. What matters is a good GMAT score, preferably in the range of 690-750 that will help you to get your application being selected in a top B School.
